Daily Reminder Setup Guide

About Daily Reminders

Pundaze can send you a free push notification at 2pm Eastern Time each day to let you know that a new puzzle is live. Tap the notification and it takes you straight to the day's puzzle.

A few things worth knowing before you enable them:

Reminders are per device. If you play on your phone and your laptop, enable reminders on each device you want them on.

We skip you when you've already played. If you're signed in and have finished today's puzzle, you won't get that day's reminder.

To get started, open pundaze.com, tap the bell icon in the toolbar, and choose Push Notifications. The sections below cover what that looks like on each device.

Desktop (Chrome and Edge)

1. Open pundaze.com and click the bell icon in the toolbar.

2. Click the Push Notifications card.

3. Your browser will ask whether to allow notifications from pundaze.com. Choose Allow.

That's it. Notifications appear through your operating system, so make sure your system settings allow notifications from your browser (on Windows: Settings, then System, then Notifications; on Mac: System Settings, then Notifications).

Android

1. Open pundaze.com in Chrome and tap the bell icon.

2. Tap the Push Notifications card.

3. When Chrome asks for permission, tap Allow.

On Android 13 and later, Chrome itself also needs notification permission: check Settings, then Apps, then Chrome, then Notifications if nothing arrives. Aggressive battery saver modes can also delay or block notifications for browsers.

Mac (Safari)

Safari supports web push on macOS Ventura and later (Safari 16.1+).

1. Open pundaze.com in Safari and click the bell icon.

2. Click the Push Notifications card and choose Allow.

If notifications don't appear, check System Settings, then Notifications, then Safari, and make sure alerts are allowed.

iPhone and iPad

iPhones and iPads support web notifications on iOS 16.4 and later, but Apple only allows them for websites that have been added to your Home Screen. That means there's one extra step compared to other devices, and it only takes a moment:

1. Open pundaze.com in Safari.

2. Tap the Share button (the square with an arrow pointing up) at the bottom of the screen.

3. Scroll down and tap "Add to Home Screen", then tap Add.

4. Close Safari and open Pundaze from the new icon on your Home Screen.

5. Tap the bell icon and choose Push Notifications.

6. When iOS asks for permission, tap Allow.

From then on, reminders arrive just like notifications from a regular app. Keep playing from the Home Screen icon for the best experience.

Turning Reminders Off

Tap the bell icon and tap the Push Notifications card again to turn reminders off on that device.

You can also block them at the browser or system level: in Chrome or Edge, click the icon next to the address bar, open Site settings, and set Notifications to Block. On iPhone or iPad, go to Settings, then Notifications, then Pundaze.

Troubleshooting

It says notification permission was denied

You (or your browser) previously blocked notifications for pundaze.com, so the prompt won't appear again until you reset it:

Chrome and Edge (desktop or Android): click or tap the icon to the left of the address bar, open Site settings (or Permissions), find Notifications, and change it to Allow or Ask. Reload the page and try again.

Safari on Mac: open Safari Settings, then Websites, then Notifications, find pundaze.com, and set it to Allow.

iPhone and iPad: go to Settings, then Notifications, then Pundaze, and turn Allow Notifications on. If Pundaze isn't listed, remove the Home Screen icon, add it again, and re-enable reminders from the app icon.

It says permission was denied in a private or incognito window

Browsers turn off web notifications in private browsing. Chrome's incognito mode declines the permission request automatically without ever showing a prompt, so enabling reminders there will always fail. Open pundaze.com in a regular window to set them up.

Notifications stopped arriving

A few common causes: Focus or Do Not Disturb mode is on, your phone's battery saver is restricting background activity, or you already played today while signed in (we skip those reminders on purpose). On a Mac, also confirm the system allows notifications from your browser: System Settings, then Notifications, then Google Chrome (or your browser), with Allow Notifications turned on. If none of those apply, open the bell menu, turn Push Notifications off, then on again. This re-registers your device.

I use Pundaze on several devices

Reminders are set up per device. Enable them on each phone, tablet, or computer where you want the daily nudge.
